dyslexia friendly coloured overlays

Coloured Reading Overlays

Enhance reading comfort and effectiveness with coloured transparent Reading Overlays, especially designed for those experiencing visual difficulties.

Conventional black text on white, often glossy, paper can cause discomfort for many readers.

Coloured overlays work by adding a 'matt' surface to the text and reducing the black-white balance to make reading and tracking of text easier

Coloured overlays offer a stress-free reading experience, making reading both enjoyable and accessible.

dyslexia focussed learning technologies

Digital Reading Pens

Reading pens are pen shaped electronic devices that scan the printed text on the page and read it aloud via earphones.

They are small, portable, discrete devices that, with a school application for Access Arrangements (see other blog posts) can be used in GCSE and GCE (A Level) examinations.

This means that students with reading difficulties including dyslexia can sit their examinations with their peers in the main exam hall with headphones plugged into their pens and work independently, without relying on the support of a human reader.

At Home with Dyslexia - Recommended Reading

Recommended Reading

This book will empower parents by giving them the tools and strategies to deal with dyslexia, making them confident and knowledgeable in the process.

The Book Offers:

- a visually appealing guidebook offering support for the busy (and often dyslexic) parent;

- practical and emotional support at home from primary to secondary school years

- useful day to day advice and tools to help at home

Central to this guide is language of acceptance and celebration, emphasising a learning 'difference' rather than a 'disability', and a genuine encouragement of dyslexic abilities and strengths.
